Finley after another cold snap of 25 to 35 degrees below average we have finely began to separate the Adult fish from the first drop fry. We are doing this to lesson the contamination of these fry from the time they spent in the mother pond. We will concentrate on the characteristic’s of the second drop in about 6 weeks. These fry from the first drop are to be grown out for comparison to each other first and then to the second drop of the (gene pool) adults. The first drop fry will be separated male from female and the each sex will be determined in comparison to traits for similarity and the most dominate of these may continue on with those of the second drop if they show the same traits.
